DUE to continued expansion Nurture Childcare Services are recruiting for a Senior Residential Care Officer to work within one of our residential units in the Preston area supporting young people from ages 10-17 years.
Nurture Childcare Services Ltd are recruiting for a Residential Childcare Officer to join a well established home in the Preston Area.
This home supports children with SEBD / CSE.
160 hours per month on a rolling rota basis, sleeps are paid at £66, on calls paid at £20.
Must hold Level 3 Residential Children’s Home qualification.
Driver with business insurance essential to post.

Essential Skills
Experience of supporting young people within a caring role environment who display SEBD / CSE
Experience of paid care work in residential or day care environment
Experience of working with young people aged 10 to 18 years of age
Residential Childcare Level 3 Diploma or NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (Young People) or to achieve Diploma via Nurture Childcare Services Ltd within 18 months of commencing employment.
Age 22 or over.
Have a kind and caring nature
Good verbal communication skills
Skills in recording and presenting information
Simple numeracy skills / IT skills
Understanding of all issues around caring for young people in a care environment
Understanding client confidentially and data protection protocol
Flexibility (working weekends and public holidays on a rota basis)
Ability to work on own initiative
Ability to lone work whilst on shift
Full clean driving licence (to use the Company Vehicles and own car) – essential that you can drive and business insurance is required
Skills in everyday household tasks
Ability to encourage young people to learn and do things for themselves
Ability to work with young people around personal hygiene and care
Ability to help young people to learn basic living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and finances
To promote education and highlight educational needs and gaps
Understanding of Equal Opportunities
Understanding of Health and Safety Issues in the home and young people
Understanding of the Children’s Homes Regulations and Standards
A good understanding of Safeguarding / Child Sexual Exploitation and Current Legislation surrounding this.
Desirable Skills
To be registered on the DBS Update Service.
